German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) Pedigree Database Update
Some of you will notice we made significant updates recently in the data base. Currently there are 26,767 records in the database. I am currently working on data accuracy with 3,632 records under review; 2,666 of these are potential duplicate registration numbers due to the GD number being place in the Registration number, 951 similiar names to be investigated and 15 with potentially incorrect gender.
I expect by years end we will be over 30,000 GSP pedigrees, with all known data issues resolved. On average I am adding 100 a day and cleaning another 100 up most days. Once we have the new input cleaned up I will be back to record validations.
If you are a breeder and would like your line records available for display on your web site or simply posted here at http://www.gspdog.net send me your records using PedX or similiar breed software and export the records to a text, comma delimited format or if that is not an option you can export them to a Microsoft Excel csv format comma or space delimted. Email me ahead of time so I can set my e-mail to receive attachments from you. Use the e-mail address removing NOMORESPAM from the address.
For PedX 5.x users:
From the database view select Tools
Select Export CSV
A new window will open
Verifiy a check mark in Enclose fields in double qoutes during export
Check the box Export field headings
Verify the Only export marked records is not checked
Export / Import seperator there should be a comma if not put a comma there
Export file name browse to a directory on your pc to save the file please make the file name your kennel name.
Press the Select all fields button.
The Export button in the lower left should now be activated select it and bingo you have exported the data to a file.
Once the records have been validated and posted you can include the link on your site similiar to how I have done for Scout and Blade.
The on-line system supports up to 10 generations, reverse pedigrees, sibling reports, breeding reports and trial pedigrees. Scout and Blades pedigrees are now displayed back more than 70 generations.

Jim
